Cycling
the way we like it
High-end without the pretense. Local without the folklore. We are cycling people, we sell bicycles, and we take it seriously without ever taking ourselves too seriously.
High-end cycling doesn't have to be intimidating. It should be well-made, well-assembled, and delivered by someone who understands why it matters to you.
Maglia Rosa was born over coffee, in a conversation between friends who loved cycling and found that serious shops were rarely welcoming. The pink of the Giro d'Italia, a color no one used in Quebec, became our way of saying we do things our way.
We built something that reflects our city: multicultural, artisanal, direct. We work with brands that genuinely manufacture, with local workshops that genuinely create, and with customers who genuinely ride.
Performance cycling shouldn't be exclusive to a certain clientele. Here, whether you've been riding for two years or twenty, you're welcomed the same way: with time, attention, and an honest recommendation.
Born over
a coffee
It all started with an informal meeting between friends, a few cups of coffee, and a simple question: why can't a high-end bike shop also be a place where you feel comfortable?
Yannick and Chantal founded the shop with this conviction. The name came naturally in that conversation: Maglia Rosa, the pink jersey of the Giro d'Italia. A color that didn't belong to any club in Quebec. A reference for those who recognize it, a curiosity for others. Both suited us.
Since then, we've grown with our community. We survived COVID, lost some things, and rebuilt others. Today's shop is the one we wished we had found when we started cycling seriously.
Three positions
that are non-negotiable
We've taken positions on how we work, who we work with, and why. This is reflected in every recommendation we make, in the brands we represent, and in what we refuse to sell.
A well-adjusted bike changes everything. The way you hold the handlebars, how your knees move, how you absorb the miles. Hervé takes care of that before we touch anything else. From new cyclists to experienced racers, everyone benefits.
We represent brands that make what they sell themselves. We work with Montreal workshops that put their name on what they produce. We assemble bikes piece by piece with people who understand each component. It's slow, it's intentional, and it's better.
We ensure the maintenance of what we build, we follow the evolution of your practice, and we are there when you want to upgrade or change direction. Many of our clients have trusted us for two or three bikes over the years. That's the measure that matters to us.
Regularly organized rides, all levels, in and around the streets of Montreal.
We follow the stages of the Tour, Giro, and Vuelta together in the shop. Local beer, cycling, and good company.
Basic mechanics, winter maintenance, positioning: practical workshops led by our team.
Microbreweries, roasters, Montreal textile workshops: we collaborate with people who do what they do well.
A Montreal
bike shop
Montreal is a city that does things its own way. A creative, bilingual, artisanal way, sometimes chaotic but always sincere. We want that to transpire in everything we do: the outfits we assemble with local workshops, the events we organize with neighborhood breweries, the partnerships we build with independent roasters.
Cycling is a culture in Montreal. We cycle almost twelve months a year, on roads that are not always perfect, in conditions that require suitable equipment and a strong community. We are building that community, around what we love and where we live.
Cyclists first and foremost
We are a small team of enthusiasts. No marketing division, no sales script. Just people who ride, build bikes, and know what they're talking about.
