Rides &
Clinics
Organized rides to cycle together, and practical workshops to better understand your bike. We are building this program as we go, with the people who want to participate.
The idea is simple: we start together, we ride at a pace that suits the group, and we finish somewhere nice. Whether it's a coffee shop, a brewery, or back to the store, the goal is for everyone to leave with a smile.
Rides will be announced with enough advance notice to plan. The usual starting point will be the shop, but some rides may start from other locations depending on the route.
Conversational pace, reasonable distances, less demanding routes. For those getting back into cycling, discovering Montreal by bike, or just wanting to ride in good company without being left behind.
Higher pace, longer distances, some hills. For people who ride regularly and are looking for a group to push a little harder with. No competition, but we're not pretending either.
Cleaning, lubrication, cable replacement, brake and derailleur adjustment. So you don't have to rely on the shop for common interventions.
The basics of bike ergonomics with Hervé. To understand how your position influences your comfort and efficiency, before moving on to an individual session.
Safety rules, signals, group techniques. For people who want to start riding with others without feeling lost.
Basic techniques for riding on mixed surfaces, equipment choices, first trails around Montreal. For the curious who want to get off the asphalt.
Other clinic formats may be added based on demand. If you have an idea for training that would be useful to you, come see us at the shop or write to us.
Bikepacking and long-distance cycling are attracting more and more people, but taking the plunge alone is intimidating. There are questions about equipment, route planning, managing effort over several days, and loading the bike; all things that are learned much faster with someone who has already done them.
The idea of the tours is to let you experience it in a structured and safe environment, with a reasonably sized group and a team that knows the roads, equipment, and contingencies.
2 days, 1 night. An accessible itinerary around Montreal to test equipment, sleep outdoors with your loaded bike, and get hooked. No experience required.
3 to 5 days on a regional itinerary: Laurentians, Eastern Townships, or other depending on the season. Planned accommodation, managed logistics, focus on the joy of riding and discovery.
A half-day session before your first trip or an independent journey: bike loading, equipment selection, navigation, managing effort over several days.
For those with some experience. A more demanding, less structured itinerary, with light supervision. Autonomy with a safety net.
We're also working on equipment recommendations for bikepacking and cycle touring, and on partnerships with local accommodations along the routes. If you have any suggestions or favorite routes, we'd love to hear them.
What you need to
know
Frequently asked questions before an outing or clinic. To arrive prepared and leave with a smile.
Where do the rides start?
The usual starting point is the shop. Some rides may start from a different location depending on the route; the location is always specified in the calendar event.
What should I bring for a group ride?
Your bike in good working order, a helmet, water, a spare tube, and basic tools for a flat tire. In uncertain weather, a windbreaker. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before departure for introductions.
How do I know if my skill level matches the advertised ride?
Each ride specifies the expected pace and distance. If in doubt, email or call us before registering. We'll tell you frankly if it's suitable for your current practice, and if not, we'll guide you to the right ride.
Can I participate in rides with any type of bike?
It depends on the ride. Road rides are designed for road or gravel bikes. Gravel or mixed rides also accept mountain bikes. The recommended bike type is always specified in the event.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We ride in bad weather, but we cancel if conditions are dangerous (thunderstorms, ice, extreme winds). In case of cancellation, we will contact you by email via the registration form no later than 2 hours before departure.
What should I bring for a clinic?
For mechanical clinics: your bike if the workshop is practical, otherwise just yourself. For positioning clinics: your bike and your usual shoes. Details are specified in each Eventbrite event.
Do I need a special bike for bikepacking trips?
A road bike with space for panniers is sufficient for short trips. A gravel bike is ideal for mixed routes. We advise you on equipment and adapting your current bike during the pre-trip workshop or in-store before you register.
