The Apidura Backcountry saddlebag is made from Dimension-Polyant VX21, a four-layer laminated fabric originally developed for the marine industry, and our proprietary 420D nylon; a rugged fabric manufactured to our own rigorous specifications for durability and waterproofing. Designed to meet the demands of off-road riding, these materials offer complete waterproofing, lightweight construction, low stretch, and high abrasion and tear resistance. Notably, they are welded together at the seams, creating a watertight seal that ensures the saddlebag remains completely waterproof. The Velcro straps are reinforced with Hypalon, a durable rubberized nylon that provides additional protection against chafing and punctures in high-stress areas. For the attachment system, Woojin buckles were chosen for their strength and reliability, while abrasion-resistant 840D fabric panels offer additional protection in high-wear areas.
