FOR YOUR LONG, STUPID OUTINGS
Beyond triathlon and professional cycling, endurance-oriented sports, there are hundreds of other athletes who, every day, push their bodies and equipment to their absolute limits. Ultra-distance, yes, but ultra-fast. We call these "Big Stupid Rides," and since the introduction of the Caledonia in 2020, athletes from all over the world have explored the scale and the sheer "stupidity" of these races.
These athletes choose the Caledonia-5. It is designed for long-distance and high-speed racing, with a fit and handling geared towards comfort, but without sacrificing the feel of the Cervelo racing bike.
For the new Caledonia-5, we focused on improvements that would be meaningful for riders pushing it to its limits. The biggest change you'll notice is the addition of in-frame storage, which you may have first seen on the P-series. It's not designed to hold a banana, but rather a small multi-tool, a spare inner tube, and a CO2 cartridge. Next, we looked at comfort: The seat stays are lowered, like on the Aspero, making the rear triangle more vertically compliant. At the same time, there's a bit more stiffness in the downtube to maintain the pro-level responsiveness the Caledonia is known for. It still accommodates wide tires (36mm), and every bike comes with fender mounts.
Like all Cervélo bikes, the Caledonia-5 is UCI approved and comes with a lifetime warranty. We build racing bikes, and we build them to last.
INTERNAL STORAGE
New this year on the Caledonia-5, the frame storage compartment is designed to hold an inner tube, a small multi-tool, and a CO2 cartridge. The hatch is easily removable, even with gloves – simply flip the locking lever and pull.
AERODYNAMICS
All Cervélo bikes are aerodynamic. And when you're on your third day of cycling, you'll appreciate that extra little boost. The fully internal cable routing and aerodynamic frame shapes combine to help you fight the cyclist's greatest enemy: the wind!
REFINE AND IMPROVE
The Caledonia-5 is designed for all-day rides, group rides, fast-paced adventures, and less-than-ideal road surfaces. We've kept all the best features of the original Caledonia-5 and improved the details, like the new headset top cover, designed to let you adjust your fit without having to take everything apart.
RESERVE 42|49
The Caledonia-5 Sram Red, Sram Force, Shimano Dura-Ace, and Shimano Ultegra Di2 all feature the brand-new Reserve 42|49 wheels. Developed using Turbulent Aero technology, they are designed for all types of rides, capable of adapting to all kinds of terrain while maintaining aerodynamic qualities. Exactly the Caledonia-5's mission!
